Be interesting to get some views. This certainly had some mixed comments on various sites I've seen

Same, actually was amazed there wasn't a region-block on this download(which is quite common with UK marketplace demo's lately from other regions).

I would have thought this game would be blocked from German marketplace and so making it blocked from everywhere but the UK, I didn't get the usual "not available from your current location" message though so looks like I will get to sample this one. Good thing too as I really like the concept, hope the game is good to match!

It's localized for Germany - exactly the same game but had to swap certain illegal textures (swastikas etc).

had a quick go; average, last gen style graphics. bog standard FPS gameplay. Think I'll wait for R6V2 for my next FPS

Looks like COD 4 really has spoilt us! It seems all these 'new' FPS can't come anywhere near the brilliance of COD, oh well we'll have to see what the next FPS holds

I feel a bit more negative than you other guys. I thought the looks were dreadful. There are several last gen games that are more attractive. Gameplay average/ordinary. Incredibly linear map. The download took far too long. Another poor aspect was the damage physics, or lack of. Shoot a surface and watch how nothing happens. I never expect too much from Codemasters.

Battlefield Bad Company is my next big FPS.

I thought this was absolutely awful. The turn sensitivity on high was too much, and on medium it felt like my character was trying to move through cement. The graphics were horrible, and the controls even worse. I really like the scenario though, it's one of my favourite comic book staples: "what if ... happened ... and Nazi Germany won WWII?" -- unfortunately I'll never find out what they did with this premise as the game is one of the worst I've played.

I'll rank it alongside the best-forgotten Eragon demo as the worst piece of software to have made it onto my 360!

I didnt think it was quite that bad but I agree with you about the sensitivity, high was stupid and medium was turning in treacle, also the aiming seems a bit hit and miss (pun intended).

But seeing the story through might be enough of an incentive to purchase it for me, theres not a lot of WWII games due out apart from BIA:HH and even though most people are sick of them I would rather play a WWII game than a modern/future shooter any day.

I never downloaded Hour of Victory. But let me put it this way; The Eragon demo was so bad that it was removed from Xbox Live after just a few hours, presumable because of the awful reviews it was getting.

If you can somehow get access to play this game I highly recommend it, it sets new lows in the gaming industry. The graphics were easily comparable to that of Playsation 1/Sega Saturn games for a start, it had 1 button combat, and pretty much summed up everything that movie to game tie-ins traditionally are.

If you think that Hour of Victory can compete with Eragon as the worst demo ever then let me know as I'll have to download it to see for myself :) Something this bad has to be played to believed.

Hour Of Victory has to be one of the worst games I have ever played if not the worst and I have played Eragon.

I traded HOV on here thinking how bad can it be and it was that bad, I loved the videos of Turning Point and will be gutted if it's that cack :thumbsdow

I just played this and I actually like it, but then again I didn't think the Eragon demo was that bad either lol. Was I the only one impressed with the opening sequence? thought it was one of the more exciting I seen in a game, and graphically it looks pretty damn good, well on my lcd it does anyway. Agree that the sensitivity needs to be tweeked, mediums too slow and highs way too fast. Still the same crappy ww2 weapons though but spose still better to use in terms of aiming and control than the pure crap ones they had in MOH airbourne. Won't be getting it on release but def pick it up on a trade somewhere down the road

Had this demo downloading all day yesterday & it's still going now, at least I won't have my expectations very high after reading the impressions from this thread:rolleyes:

BTW, it simply cannot be as bad as Hour of Victory, one of the lousiest games I've ever come across for it's current generation, especially the Xbox360:rolleyes:

actually tetlee, it is as bad as hour of victory, when it started i thought it looked really good, and the twist of it not being ww2 but a couple of years ahead was interesting, however that as far as it got, really average and the shooting is laughable, i got into the basement and there is a guy who i kid u not i shot a full magazine of bullets into him at point -blank, and he just stood there, truly truly awful, and like hour of victory i looked forward to this, and turok for that matter and all 3 were awful.

again it comes down not to graphics of cod4 spoiling these games but lazy developers.

this had to be one of the worst game i have played on the 360. The grpahics must be like alpha build or something, the ai is ridiculous. The hit detection is utterly woeful. It was frighteningly linear. Everything around you was blocked off so the only interaction you had was with the next door or ladder you needed.

very, very poor. It was also too slow.
