When my Philips 24PW6006 tv changes screen size (eg 16:9 to 4:3) it shows the new size on a display label in the middle of the screen for a few seconds. Does anyone know how to stop it doing this? Now I'm using a Freeview box, the screen size can change frequently (every time the ads come on in the Simpsons), and it's annoying to get this label every time.

    Chris.

    Chris,

I'm not familiar with your particular Philips tv (and somebody who is may be able to confirm) but I rather doubt that you can switch this label off.

All may not be lost, however, as it sounds as if you've got it set to "auto-switching".

See what happens if you lock it to widescreen.

    Good luck. :)
