I've had this problem for many years but thought I'd ask for advice now.
I virtually live by my PC and next to my PC is a Ferguson 15" TV, Pioneer DVR530H and a Philips VR708 video recorder. I feed a coax signal from the main living room TV setup that contains an analogue NTL signal. If I setup the NTL channel on my Pioneer and Philips and watch it through the AV channel on the TV I have sound. If I tune the NTL signal directly into a channel on the TV then I have no sound which I can't understand. The only explanation I can think of is that the DVD recorder and/or Video player boosts the signal but I've even put a booster on the coax and that makes no difference.

    Any ideas appreciated.

That's the chassis type fitted, not the model no.
It is usually 2 numbers followed by a letter followed by another number.i.e.14M1.......or 5 numbers i.e.37633
