    Hi,

I was given a partially broken Toshiba XB-1000 receiver (anyone heard of this model?), and I am trying to fix it.

It works perfectly in digital input mode, both the headphone and speaker outputs (the source is my comp's m-audio digital-out).

In analogue input mode, there is an audible amount of music at really high volume. I've tried different inputs: CD, Tape, etc, with the same result.

How is the digital input amplified, is it converted into an analogue signal and amplified through the same path the analogue signal would take? If so that would eliminate a lot of possible problems.

    Thanks,
    William
