The UK version of True Lies when released in 2001, on the joint Universal/Columbia label was fully uncut, due to administrative error.

It's easy to spot as it has the old "15" certificate logo and has the 2001 date on the back. Loads of copies floating around E-bay and in car boot sales.

    I got one for £5 + P & P.

Further details of differences between 2001 & 2003 UK release of "True Lies".

When re-released on DVD bearing the copyright 2001 the cuts somehow had been forgotten about and this release is uncut. This version can also be identified by the old certificate image:

The latest DVD with the following certificate image and copyright notice 2003 is cut as per the video

Fight in station toilet: cut: Schwarzenegger headbutt
Fight in station toilet: trimmed: shots of Arnie clapping opponents ears. This is also cut in the cinema version.
Fight in station toilet: cut: Arnie beating opponent with hand dryer. Arnie hits him three times whereas we only see one (also cut in the cinema version)
Fight in station toilet: cut: attackers head hit on urinal, also Arnie's joke "Here Cool Off" after flushing the urinal
During test drive: cut: One hit to Simon's face, resulting unconscious state & blooded nose remain intact
Escape from torturer: trimmed: scalpel thrown at guards eye
Escape from torturer: trimmed: Arnie snaps torturers neck
Escape from torturer: cut: Arnie ramming tyre iron into guards chest
Escape from torturer: trimmed: Arnie killing guard by sliding down a rope and breaking his neck

Note: The required re-editing was done by James Cameron, the director.
