Just finished watching Troy on HD.
Just amazing. It was always a fantastic film anyway but the detail is truely brilliant in Hidef.
Highly recommend this film to the HD collection.

I picked up troy last week. It's good, but image quality is only so-so, relative to other titles I own. Soundtrack is better though - in TrueHD.

Troy is in Tier 2 on the AVS Forums quality listing :-

Having not seen this before and owning both cuts on HD DVD, which is better to watch blind (I'm leaning more towards the Director's Cut)?

I agree with the OP this film was made for HD, I not watched it all since i got is but just spn it up to look at the quality and thought the quality even beats TDK (apart from the IMAX shots) which every one raves about.

Good PQ and SQ but with it being the Director's Cut it does outstay it's welcome. The blood in the the battles does give it more of an authentic effect but it is far too long.

Watching it blind (literally cover your eyes) is probably the best way to watch it! Close your ears too because it really is a terrible movie!!!

Director's Cut is the better film, but it is on for an eternity. I'd also like Diane Kruger to bear my children.
