Trouble with Windows XP Task Manager

    When using ctrl, alt, delete a message is displayed saying 'Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator'
    is there anyone who can help me in enabling back the Task Manager.

    Please help as I am tearing my hair out

    This could be a virus - do you have an up to date virus checker ?
    It could also be disabled from the admin setup - you can get into this by running gpedit.msc from start/run
    You should also be able to run takmanager from start/run - type in taskmgr.exe

    edit - I think gpedit.msc is only available in Xp Pro

    interesting. just looked at gpedit.msc what settings would allow me to re-enable access to "Disk Management"?
    Since installing SP2 to my XP pro machine I get access to this on my local machine. I have one use, me, as administrator.
