wondering if any one can help??

ive recently got a 42" panasonic pw6 didnt want to pay for the input boards so got a syncblaster scart to vga cable.
the syncblaster lead connets the tv to a scart switching box.
ive got a freeview box wired into this and it works perfectly. with my xbox however i just get a black screen, the no signal sign goes but no picture is displayed.
ive had a quick read through the forums and figured that changing the box to ntsc may work.
ive done this through enighmah video converter in the evo x 'launch apps from hd' section but cant manage to change the other settings to get it to work.
In the avalaunch dashboard i found the options but it wont let me change them due to the hd being locked.
any help would be apreciated :lease:

are you using a RGB scart lead from the xbox
do you have RGB out enabled in the MS dash menu of the xbox

composite out, will not work in a syncblaster lead

also is the standard lead that comes with the pal xbox an rgb scart, because it goes from the xbox to 3 phono's which then go into a scart block???

no its not rgb, you need the hi def one then it will work with your scart box...i think you can get one with the 2 rca cables for sound if you don't have an amp with optical input for 5.1 dd sound

There are 3 cables that can be used...

There is the standard 3 RCA cable that comes with x-Box, and a scart block, which is not RGB, then there is the advanced scart, which is fully RGB and has optical out, i'm guessin this is the cable that u'll need to get to plug into ur scart switcher, lastly you could always import the Hi-Def cable which is Component out, with left and right audio out and optical audio out.

You should have asked me nicely, I've had given you one.

Incidentally, you'd LOVE the soft-mod trick, far better pic than advanced scart cable gives. I did it two days ago, most impressive.

For the record, Advanced HiDef cable to 3 x rca female-female adapters, component to VGA cable (cos you have a panny 6 not 7).

    - Only works on Component AV HiDef cable output (MS is best)
    - Get a VERY ORIGINAL copy of Splinter Cell (code on disk US01210EL1)
    - Download a particular game save that comes bundled with a dashboard program
    - Get a maxdrive and copy both saves to to xbox hd
    - Start Splinter Cell (ensuring no pre-existing Splinter Cell save on hd)
    - Load profile from save
    - Dashboard program fires up that allows you run an app
    - Use app to change 'region' from PAL to NTSC
    - Restart xbox with no disk in
    - Use xbox dashbord to allow 480p, 720p, and/or 1080i (if you tv can handle them)
    - All PAL games will work and will use their highest res.
    - Worse case senario = 480p
    - Doesn't affect xvbox live
    - How cool is PES4 with progressive scan !!

There are many other (and more complex) ways to get same result. If you ever have a spare 20 hours you could read all this  which is what I had to do to summarise that above.

    Well worth doing.

mep if you need the splinter cell files i can sort you out as they are sometimes quite hard to find on the net as technically speaking you shouldn't have them so not many websites have them and certainly don't advertise the fact they do.
also don't know if you have a lcoal blockbuster video shop as i got the old splintercell from there used about a week ago for a fiver. don't buy the xbox classics splintercell(silver frame round the box) as it doesn't work. they took the loophole out the newer versions of the game.
    any probs pm me.
    cheers

I went to my local game store, they had load for a tenner 2nd hand, just be careful with serial number. Printed on rear of my box was 'made in u.s.a.' made it easier to find.

    mep,

a max drive is a £15-20 usb memory stick that is specially formatted to work with xbox. You buy it from play, whitedog, and others.

it comes with some pc software that help you store saves to pc hd and also drag and drop files back and forth. comes with usb->xbox cable. will also work as xbox memory device.

it's a crap piece of plastic with laughable build quality and I'm on my second, but SO handy.

i used an action replay. got it off ebay or amazon marketplace pretty cheap can't quite remember which one!.
only bought it to get the softmod working on my unmodded xbox i use for xbox live. you need to be able to transfer the save game exploit on to your xbox and the action replay or max drive is needed. this gets the save transferred from the pc onto the memory card and then you transfer from the memory card to the xbox.,
you can also use it to download loads of save games and cheats off the internet. never bothered myself but option always there.

action reply -> memory card -> xbox

    or

maxdrive -> xbox (no mem card needed - handy as I don't have one)

If you play PES4, you can get some cool option files with updates and kits.

action reply is a bit popular so you shouldn't struggle for saves. maxdrive is 16Mb incidentally. they're both made by the same people I think

Action Replay is a common format for saves, therefore easy to find.

CCFC = Coventry City, we had this conversation last week. you have poorer short term memory than I do. :D
