I rented TROY from Blockbuster today. There aren't many movies that I have not watched all the way through, but TROY is one.

The acting is wooden, the continuity poor and the script is leaden. The historical facts and the actual story seem to be completely ignored. The funniest clip is from the point where the Greek ships are sighted and there is a panic in the market place, a man is seen leading two llamas across the square. I may be wrong, but at that time I didn't think that the Trojans had sailed as far as south America.

I have even watched donkeys such as 'Reign of fire' all the way through, but this was too much (or too little). :thumbsdow

Funnily enough I reviewed Troy recently for this site, and thought exactly the same thing

    Gross disappointment really.

I would go as far and say it's the WORST film I've ever seen and i've seen a few!

Even the great Peter O'Toole is laughable (literally, every time he came on screen with that same, pained expression, the audience was in stitches).

Almost walked out at the cinema half way throught.

AVOID this one at all costs.

My kids insisted on watching this one so I had no choice. It was pretty awful, and I was expecting Peter O'Toole to be the sole redeeming feature but this must have been the low point in his career. Worse, I watched Gladiator just beforehand. Wonder what Ridley Scott could have done with Troy.

Trivia: Both films were made (in part) at the same location...
Fort Ricasoli in Malta. Check out my web page below for more :)

Kevo, You cant have seen that much  maybe you should try seeing

    Swordfish,
    Godzilla,
    Red Dragon,
anything with J Lo in it (except out of sight)
    battlefield earth
    Austin Powers 2 & 3

They are all much worse than Troy - now i'm not saying Troy is a five star film - but it is lifted from the bottom of the barrel by the fight between Eric Bana and Brad Pitt.

PS you still off the fags? i am

    I quite enjoyed Powers 2 & 3.

Totally agree with the rest of your list.

I think my expectations of Troy were very high, I felt badll let down after seeing it.

Yes I am, 11 months now. No cravings or regrets whatsoever.
One of the best decisions I ever made.
Glad to see you're still off them. Well done, keep it up.
