what sort of fault would cause my nec 6pg to trip to standby every hour ? you can restart it straight away and it will run again for another hour (its ideal for watching short films ) it displays a f8 code which seems to point the blame on the c or f board. the fault does not seem to be a thermal fault ? what is the p p pulse ?i,ve ordered a service manual so thing may be clearer. any ideas on where to start ? many thanks graham.

    Sorry Graham,

Not come across this one before. I'd suggest Doug Baisey at AVS as the source of the answer. I have his email address if you need it.

Well at least you know why they got rid of it.

Can't help with the error code. but I guess that's "fait" for you (F8). the fact it lasts an hour is strange.
