    Hi,

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question. But is it worth going for a tripod screen for an LCD projector(such as the Panny AE100) as opposed to a ceiling mounted one.

I know the tripod one and the LCD Projector will need to be set up each time but to my ineducated mind that seems like no big deal. I don't particually want to go the ceiling mounted route as
    1. The wife would hate it and
    2. They are a lot more expensive.

Can anybody give me a good reason why I should go the ceiling mounted route, as opposed to a tripod one I fold away when not needed.

I had the loan of a 4/3 tripod screen & I didnot like using it with my panny, I now have a ceiling mounted 16/9 screen which is much better.

The main prblem I found with the tripod was that the screen kept turning so I had to tie the corners down to stop it moving

Have you thought about the HomeScreen? Portable / pull-up / tensioned / 16:9. You can see details of my HomeScreen on my website.

I believe the sole suppliers in the UK are the Widescreen Centre. All the HomeScreens are made to order (mine took about 4 weeks). You can specify the size & aspect ratio that you want too. Mine cost around £500 I think. Not the cheapest around, but it's the only model that did exactly what I needed.
