Tripod for Sony DCR-TRV140E

Hi

i was wondering if you could recommened a cheap tripod for a Sony DCR-TRV140E, my first cam! So i know nothing! Also i have a fire wire card in my pc and a fire wire connection on my camcorda.. is this all i need to capture recorded video off of the camera or do i need a capture card like a dazzle dv thingy?
