I have a home theatre setup with a retractable Stewart screen that comes down as the projector comes on (via a 3.5m trigger cable). My projector is off being repaired and I wanted to find a way to make the screen come down. Does anyone know of a method that I can "trick" the screen to come down. I thought maybe of buying a 3.5m socket and shorting the ends - is this an option. Any guidance appreciated.

The trigger from the projector will be 12 volts. So 0v when the projector is off and 12v when the projector is on. This means that just shorting the ends won’t work as there won’t be a voltage present.

Might be worth seeing if your Stewart screen has a “volt free trigger” then you could just short it without a voltage.

However, if you currently dont have the projector why would you want to drop the screen?.......
