I managed to get some free tickets to see Tricky, Lee Scratch Perry and The Mad Prof at the Royal Festival Hall last night. Fantastic I thought - i'd been a fan for years but had never managed to see him live.

The only problem was he had a bad throat - sounding more like Napalm Death than Tricky :( The backing singer managed to carry most of the songs thankfully - her sublime voice being a real contrast to Trickys phlegmy grunts.
The saving grace tho was the last third of the set when Lee Scratch Perry joined him and gave a superb performance. It was a far more frantic, full on set than I was expecting. Still quite dark and moody but with loads of thrashing guitars and drums.

A top bloke, even with a bad throat :smashin:
