I have just purchased my first DVD player a Panasonic S75. however, i have a pair of old Wharfedale speakers that i thought I may use temporarily to bolster my fairly ok sounding tv speakers.

    :lesson:

However, I am not sure how to connect the DVD to the speakers. the speakers have the old styly hi-fi connections where the wire spilts in into 2 and you pull back th clip and stuff the wire in and it springs closed. Red to red and black to black.

Can I connect these type of speakers to my DVD player? :(

    Thanks,

    Mark.

    No !!

Don`t even try as it may overload the output from the player.

The output from the DVD player isn`t designed to drive speakers, You need an Hifi or Av amp to drive the speakers then the DVD player connects into this.
