Triax DDU112, poor signal to all secondary rooms.

To the DDU we have connected sky+, free view aerial, main tv and 3 rooms. All using compatible wall plates.

The main tv gets sky and freeview no problems, with excellent signal quality from freeview. However, the other rooms have a very poor freeview signal, only enough to get a couple channels and the picture from the rf out of sky is also extremely poor. Tried various tv's in the secondary rooms and it's the same. Checked all the connections and they're fine.

If we unplug the main downlink from the DDU and instead connect any of the secondary rooms to the main downlink, it works perfect in that room, so this proves it's not the tv's and the signal strength and quality shows as near 100%.

Do you think the box is faulty? as the signal being sent out to all the secondary rooms is the same, 0-10%.

Your distribution box is fine!

You need to provide a terrestrial [Freeview] signal to the "Return" input on the main room faceplate for all the secondary outputs to get a signal!

In your setup you would probably feed the main downlink from the DDU into your Sky box and feed the Sky's RF output into the "Return" socket. You would then feed the main TV and all the other TV's from the various separate outputs. If you have a second "Working" RF output from your Sky box, then this should/could be used to feed the main TV.

Thanks, I didn't realise that, just figured the aerial signal going into the DDU would distribute to the other rooms. So now I have done this, one of the secondary tv's now works perfect!! However, the kitchen TV will not pick up any free view channels at all and the picture from sky is still fuzzy. Checked the cabling and it's fine. Not sure why it would improve on one tv but not the other?
