I read several times that a plasma screen can not be transported horizontally

    Is this true ?

    If so, why.

    Thanks for your replies

it is more likely to break because of the size of the glass, even if you are careful.

It is the same reason why glaziers transport window panes vertically. Ever seen a glazier's van with the transport boards? The large flat pane of glass is more prone to break when transported horizontally and subjected to the usual vibrations from a vehicle.
