I am new to digital camcorders. I just bought a JVC GR-D73.

Just one problem: When veiwing a recording there is background noise when viewing a quiet scene. It's a slight ticking noise which I can only assume is the tape going round inside the camcorder. The internal mic is just in front of where the tape is, so I reckon it's picking up the tape noise.

The noise can't be noticed when there is constant talking or if I'm outside where cars are going by. It's only during relative silence.

I have tried new tapes and tried changing to 16-bit sound... to no avail. Can anyone help? Is this normal?
    :lease:
