Transformers: Complete Original Series - Deluxe Edition

    Anyone bought this?

I was Transformers mad when I was a kid and have just ordered this - £17.99 from Play - a pretty good price as the region one version was around £40

Just wondering what the packaging & quality was like. The region one version has been remastered, but it has recieved poor reviews. The region two is untouched in terms of the picture, but it does have a new 5.1 mix. Was just wondering what the picture quality was like as it hasn't been remastered - I guess I will find out myself when it arrives but I am impatient! :D

I bought the Transformers The Movie (it was cheap) cos i loved Transformers as a kid too and just wondered what it was like. Didnt really notice any problem with the picture, proberbly because i was trying so hard to understand what the hell was going on. How did i understand the cartoon at the age of 7 (or did i ) but found it completley bafferling at the age of 24 :D have i gone past the age of understading kids cartoons
And yes i do still have all the toys in the loft, even Prime and Magnus, although prime lost a arm in a particularly heavy fight.

Funny, this is exactly what has happened to mine!!

I bought the R1 boxset and have to say i thought it was quite good, nice packaging, didn't have a problem with the picture or 5.1 sound! But it's true, never as good as you remember!!

    But still IT'S TRANSFORMERS!!!!!!!

If you go to ebay.com you will know how much the toys will worth. Hasbro or Takara are rereleasing the toys again. Probably you will be able to find them(toys) in Forbidden Planet if there is one near you.
I have the DVD collection (R2) as well. Picture is the same but the sound is slight better compare to their previous release. At least there is some stereo or surround sound which is better than mono. I am looking forward for their next episode.
Well, you don't watch them with brains.

    Arrived today. :)

Absolutely brilliant - brings back sooo many memories: the music, the voices, the sound fx, ahhh thems were the days! Much better than modern cartoons anyway (especially the new transformers one from japan - that is godawful).

A gret buy, definitely recommended! ;)

Yeah, but I still reckon it would be even more fun watching it with the toys :D
