I have just bought a pc with what I suspect is a black/gold dvb tuner with a s-video input socket.

Using Pinnacle Studio, I have captured some laserdisc extras to dvd via the s-video connection. They look ok.

Setting the input back to composite seems impossible on Pinnacle so I re-installed it (?)

So I tried capturing vhs using the same lead and it looks really blocky and vcd like. I thought this may be a vhs problem but tried with the vcr tuner and a freeview tuner and they look just as bad. But using the composite output on the laserdisc player looks ok (?).

Any suggestions whether my problem lies with the capture card, or pinnacle, or is it the signal?

    Cheers.
