If I have a dvd recorder hooked up to Sky, record a program and then put it onto a DVD - can I then put the dvd into my PC and transfer the file to my pc to edit and store etc?

I have heard rumours the dvd recorders protect the files so normal "dvd ripping" programs wont work to get the vobs from the DVD?

See the frequently asked questions at the top of the forum, Rasczak guide to DVD-RAM (inc DVD-RW VR-Mode) To DVD-R should cover this one
