    Hi

I have a small dilema. I have got several hours of video footage taken on a Samsung analogue camcorder. Wotz the best way both expense and quality to get the footage transfered to an ibook running OS X for editing?

    Thanks in advance

AFAIK all modern MAC's (and i think this includes the ibook) have a built in DV port. So you can buy an analogue to DV converter for around £200 or go for something like the Dazzle USB analogue capture devices.
If your Samsung camcorder is a Hi8 format then you could try to borrow a Sony Digital8 camcorder that will play back your tapes and allow you to capture via the DV port.

There are several options and all should give final results that are close to the origional quality of the footage you have captured on your camcorder.

    Mark.
