If your after a decent film, good story, action, this is the one.

Best film I´ve seen for a while, both Denzel Washington & Ethan Hawke at their best.

Picture & sound quality are both top notch, well worth purchasing if you havent already.

I sow it on Saturday, the day i got it.
It was different than the ordinary action movie. But I must admit i had some problems with that "street english" some times, but i turned the center a couple of db up and understanded most of it.
Sow Arlington Road on TV last night, and that ending was something else, pretty good movie too.

I thought Training Day was absolute rubbish. Washington's character was way too OTT, and where's the story!

Arlington Road is a quality film though.

Greeny, Regarding your comments about Training Day and asking where the story is........................ Did you actually watch the film or what??? The story was very involved and gripping, all I can say is that you you couldn't of understood the plot. I agree with everyone else and thought it was a very good film and thought provoking.

It's amazing how many people totally miss the plot of a film and then blame the film for not having one. I once heard someone comment about a film:

"They're just trying to be arty doing it all in black and white, but the story's really crap"

Can anyone guess what the film was?

I just watched and reviewed Training Day recently and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I'm no fan of Denzel's and I really didn't fancy the film, but it went down a treat! Good entertainment.

    My review

Okay, apologies for bringing back an old thread but some of us in Region 2 land have only just got their mits on this one.

Overall I quite enjoyed this film. Very intense and involving, the sort of film that pulls you in and gets the adrenalin going. Excellent acting throughout (except maybe the guy on the weelchair, Snoop Dog ?). I wouldn't say the film was without flaws though, mainly the *huge* coincidence that saved Ethan Hawke at the hands of the three low-lifes. What were the chances of that happening ?

I agree also that the ending was a bit over-the-top. The fight was a bit drawn out and unrealistic and the assasination involving many 100's of bullets (when one would have been enough) was over done.

I still thought it wasn't a bad film though. Although probably one I would have preferred to rent or would have been content just to see it at the cinema.

I watched mine this afternoon after picking it up for £7.99 and what a bargain that turned out to be!

This film is superb. I was expecting the usual "chase and shoot" type movie but it was way more than that! Brilliant stuff :)

    Here were the nominees

    ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE

    Russell Crowe (Beautiful Mind)
    Sean Penn (I am Sam)
    Will Smith (Ali)
    Denzel Washington (Training Day)
    Tom Wilkinson (In The Bedroom)

Personally I would have given it to Crowe he was superb in A Beautiful Mind. I think he didn't get it for political reasons a) being an arse b) the unique double African American winners

I also thought Will Smith put in a better performance
