Tracking an iPad without Find my...

Hi all,

I'm desperately trying to find my iPad Air, but unfortunately I hadn't signed up for iCloud with the device, nor had I updated the firmware for a good while. Is there any other way to track it?

I've got my iTunes details, and I can see the device still registered on my account but I can't seem to find any way of tracking it or checking when it was last turned on etc. I've got a terrible feeling that we left it in my father's car that he subsequently sold. A truly ridiculous situation.

Any ideas? :\
