Buzzcocks - ever fallen in love.....for the Rav 4 advert

Jose Padilla - Adios Ayer (feat. Seal) ...for the Yaris

There was an earlier one for the Avensis Jimi Hendrix...Vodoo Child, but you knew that one, right.

No I think he means the Rav 4 - Still Feeling Rebelious ones. Like where the guy washes his Rav 4 only to realise he's been conned into washing someone elses identical car.

At the end of the ad there's a couple of seconds of some 80s power/glam metal with screeching guitars and equally screeching vocals.

That's the advert, but it ain't no power/glam metal band!

Maybe Spectre knows? He is a bit of an old rocker isn't he?

I think you will find that it is Skunk Anansie. Not sure which song though.

not sure if it's skunk anansie.. sounds like a bloke doing one of those high-pitched heavy metal screeches a la Saxon or someone like that. It's definitely someone wearing leather and demin with a poodle perm on top!

It's been bothering me for weeks. I posted a thread about it which no-one replied to.

It's not Skunk Anansie. Could be overkill. Oh I don't know.

there was a rav 4 commercial that used Buzzcocks as it's main track... but the one we're talking about is a mere snippet of power metal right at the end...

I have no idea what the buzzcocks sound like so there you go....

Personally I am convinced it is Skunk Anansie! :)

Heathen!! Go forth and buy one of those three minute heros compilations immediately, actually if you can find it, the one called Three Minute Heros is fantastic!

You sound like a Skunk Anansie fan... how much you gonna give me for my 1 of 50 7" vinyl test pressing of Little Baby Swastika?

Lex, leave off with Skunk Anansie - they had a female vocalist. The singer on the RAV4 ad has balls, mate; hence the unusually high pitched tone.

I am very disappointed that there are no old metal heads out there!!!

Still no definitive answer. Somebody here claims that the music was written especially for the advert (according to Toyota). I suppose that is the most likely answer, as if it were a pre-existing piece of music surely somebody would have identified it by now.
