Recently I've bought Toy Story box set from splash dvd.
I have tried playing this disc on two different players and both say that that there is no CD in the drive!
The two DVD players that I have tried playing them are Lasonic 2000 and acoustics solutions DVD651 from richer sounds.
    Has anyone had this problem.
Movies play fine on a computer!

I have had a couple of DVDs that played fine in my DVD-ROM but did not play on my DVD player. I think DVD-ROMs are far more tolerant - it doesn't mean the disk is not faulty.

I got replacement disks, and they worked fine. I suggest you do the same :)

I remember a while back there was a problem with the 3rd disc on the R2 version of the Toy Story set.

The R1 works fine but the R2 would not play on 'cheaper' DVD players.

The same problem also happened on the 'Fantasia' box set. Di$ney claimed it was a problem with cheaper R2 cloned playes that 'did not meet stanadards' but it was happening on Sony and Panny players as well.

I have never bought an R2 Di$ney disc since and only buy R1 Di$ney stuff as these always seems to work.

No problems with these discs. A neighbour has the Acoustic Solutions and it struggles with quite a few discs that play OK for me.

I have the toy story boxset and they play fine. only problem: as Disney DVDs don't meet the DVDforum standards but their own DisenyDVD ones my Tosh is very slow in loading the menus and navigating.
