Total Novice Advice Needed!

Hello, im looking for a "all in one" package that includes the receiver and speakers. Im a total novice soo any advice will be much appreciated! I will basically have it all connected up to my LCD TV and PS3. Im on a budget off £400MAX am i asking too much? Obviously i know im not gunna get anything out off this world, im just after a basic system has the sound on LCD'S are pretty poor. Will this be suitable?

Good point actually! Im guessing if that equipment would be suitable i would phone them up and get it without the DVD player!

Ok, maybe if you can get to one of their shops you could try and do a deal on the following

Sony STRDG820 £249
Tanoy EFX5.1 £149

You will need some cash for leads and cables but the Sony will at least give you HD sound with your PS3 connected via HDMI.

I would try for 10% discount on buying both together or get them to throw in some cables etc.

Hi, no problem you will need HDMI cable from your PS3 to the AMP and then from the AMP to the LCD TV. Then you will require speaker cable for the 5 small speakers. And then a cable for the subwoofer which is like a phono type connection but make sure it is suitable for subwoofer.

That sounds fairly straight forward! Just the one question though, is it easy enough to connect the wire to the speakers?

Yep just need to be able to strip the cable back to expose the core, twist it and then connect to the temals on the speakers and AMP. Also as you didn't say which TV make sure it has a HDMI socket.

Also noticed there is a single speaker on ebay so you could add this to give you a 6.1 setup

Cheer's you've been a great help . Yea my TV has a few HDMI sockets!
