I have the requiremnt of capturing a bit of holiday footage and occassional use. My PC has a 2GB hard disk, so unlikely I would want to do anything fancy, there is always the chance I'll never use this again. Real point & shoot stuff.

    QVC have this today

which made my partner think of getting one. Off on holiday in ten days time. Budget £200-£250 to inlude any accessories that are essential.

    Cheers for any help.

A quick check on pricerunner shows the best price being £259 so the price for what it is looks okay but you will need to spend quite a bit more if you want to get the video onto your PC as this is not a digital camcorder. You will need a TV capture card (or similar) to do this.

If you really want to connect to your PC then a Mini DV camcorder is the way to go. Looking on Pricerunner again shows the cheapest to be a JVC at £333 (see here for the full list http://uk.pricerunner.com/sound-and-vision/vision/camcorders/browse?sort=5&a_304=Mini+DV )
