    Hi

I have the VCR connected to Scart 2, X-Box to Scart 1(RGB) DVD to component in.

When I play a video the TV automatically switches to the associated input, same with the X Box but NOT the DVD.

Is this right or should the TV also switch automatically for Component signals?

    Thanks for any replies.

Your TV is operating correctly. There is no auto-switching on the Component (AV4) inputs. This feature is only available via Scart as it requires a small voltage sent to a specific Pin.

I get the same, my DVD is using S-video.

Pain I know, especially as it is on input 3!

    Bugger, thats what I thought.

I'm upgrading my amp from a Sony 940 to Denon 2802 and was wondering about using it for component switching. After helpful replies from a post in another forum I have gone off the idea but this is the final nail in the coffin. If the TV can't auto switch to component i will still have to select AV4 manually which defeats the object!!!

    Thanks chaps!

Scart 3 does autoswitch as i used to have my DVD plugged in there using S-video.

A scart lead which is not fully wired will not send the switching signal.
