Any news on a confirmed release date for the new Z series.

I see Toshiba have finally updated their site to include the new models, but no mention of a firm release date. All I know so far is that they're due Sep '07 and have been since their announcement.

Is there? If that's the case I couldn't see for looking.

I've seen the C series & the X series ones but nothing for the Z - although it doesn't get mentioned a few time in them. I'd thought with September just around the corner, the hyperbole would have started for this series. Or has the X & C series caused Toshiba apathy?

The thread is called "Toshiba X&Z series tv's announced"

I'm not sure what to do either get a 42X3030D for £750 ish inc Quidco or get the new 42" Z-series. I should think the Z-series model would be close to £1000 so is the extra £250 or so worth it as it will mainly be used for Xbox 360 and PS3.

So will the z series have no problems displaying 1080p 24p compared to the x series in which people are still getting the judder effect. Since it specifically says 24p 5:5 pull down hopefully there won't be.

Theoretically, but best wait and see.

once again via VGA there is no 1:1 pixel mapping

No mention whatsoever about using IPS panels.

It doesn't, but 100hz sounds better than 96hz doesn't it. Just like 2L looks better than 1.970L on the back of your car.

The HDMI-CEC Regza Link seems to be a way of "controlling your Regza HDTV" from your new Qosmio Laptop......kinda niche feature, but may help with firmware and calibrating. I was hoping it would have the Ethernet port as features on US LX177 models.

http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/20/toshibas-qosmio-g40-and-f40-play-extra-nice-with-your-regza-tv/

According to the Regza LX177 (similar to Z-series) thread on US avsforum.com owner's are moaning about green push, clouding and restricted access to HDMI sockets (large headed HDMI plugs will not fit, they hit the back of the TV). A few have reported issues with bands / poor image which they reckon is solved by loosening the screws at the back of the screen, apparently these can be too tight and affect the image, poor screw driver torque setting in Toshiba Mexico Assembly Plant.

Mickus-could you please edit the first post and 1)Attach a good image for the tv
2)Insert the link with the full spesifications!!!

I just suggest something in order to help people so they wont need to search when the thread will become huge!!

clouding

plus some banding "for free" in some units....ummm. It makes me uneasy....

do you know if the 42" or the 47" is using an IPS-alpha pannel?
