toshiba xxWL56 resolutions on pc vga

    A lot of issues on this series in a number of threads. One of the issues that hasn't been resolved as far as I can see is the resolution you can get from a pc vga input (the dsub 15 pin one).

    On the 27WL56, getting the native 1280x720 is problematic as it stands.

    Any further comments on that?

    What about 1366x768 on the larger models? Achievable, assuming the pc graphics card can produce the resolution?

    Also, has anyone tried a new graphics card that can produce a HDTV signal? (e.g. the nVidia 6 series) I suppose the timings of such a signal would be different than the corresponding standard PC timing. If it works, 720p would mean native res for the 27" at least.

    Results of experiments greatly appreciated.
