I remember someone posted a link to a version of the manual that included a load of STBs but I can't find that now - anyone?

According to the NTL guy that replaced my old NTL STB with a new Samsung STB, most/all of the newer NTL STBs are supposed to be operated by the same remote control..and in fact I didn't get a new remote control unit with the Samsung but carried on using my old one from my Pace STB.
So I guess you could try one of the Pace STB codes with the Tosh (0042)?

You can download the manuals from

    http://www.home-entertainment.toshi...vdrecorders-dvdrecorders-rd-xs32?opendocument

But this is just the same as the manual delivered with the XS32, and it doesn't list any Freeview receivers.

I called both Toshiba, and in my case Sony for the VTX-D800U Freeview box. Neither could help. Toshiba said to contact Sony... Sony said they didn't know.

So, if your model is not in the manual, I don't know how you find out. I'd sure love to know for the Sony Freeview box.

I've managed to find my copy of the PDF manual. It lists the Pioneer DBF-TR100 as being 1527.
    Sony VTX800 is 1526
    Samsung U2001 is 1491

Thank You! The Sony code works! Where did you get this PDF from? It isn't in the PDF manual I downloaded (nor in the hard copy one), and Toshiba couldn't help either! I thought I'd never find the code.

Can't remember where I got it from. It wasn't the tosh site. It's an address which is often cited here as being a place to get an updated version of the manual - I believe it's just someone's private web site. The address is def. in the main XS32 thread if you fancy wading through it all.

If this was the link http://www.kokorolab.com/TOSH/tosh.html
    it no longer functions.
http://www.kokorolab.com/download.html (seems to be Italian) contains 5 huge zip files, one of which may or may not contain the manual. If you have broadband and a lot of time you may like to explore them. I'd start at 5 on the off chance they are alphabetically arranged.

I don't think that's it; at least number 5 isn't. It is one single huge file called 5.ai.
