Comer have you seen my PM
I've just checked and I haven't received a pm from you. I tried to pm Kramer earlier with no joy also the forum is very slow when posting
basically i wanted to know as you are fellow TOSHIBA owner ,
what the difference is between your MT3? and the HS10 you saw at Kramers.
1. Is the picture significantly better in general?
2.VERY IMPORTANTLY !! did you see any vertical Bands?
3.How much better was the contrast
I typed up a long reply to this this morning and the bloddy thing would not post.
The picture is not hugely better than using the HCPC from the MT3 but definately a little cleaner and very smooth with no evidence of screendoor from about five feet back from the screen (Screen is 6ft 4in viewable width) Really watching Band of Brothers was frighteningly real looking-really like lookiung through a window (with no glass ) The 1080i stuff Kramer demoed to me gave me a pain in my heart, it was that wonderful.
Absolutely no vertical banding evident to my eyes on HCPC
Contrast was much improved on the MT3 but remember Kramer has a filter (CC4r... or something like that) and his pj is calibrated to prefection (don't u just hate people like that)
Overall it's a fantastic machine but with HCPC there is still the stutter on pans as this has to do with the refresh rate and with Kramer's 1:1 pixel mapping resolution it's locked at 56hrz. Howener, there is no tearing as on the MT3 which (while being very annoying in it's own right) also adds to the impression of stutter.
Noise: Even at the loud setting I don't think it's as loud as the MT3 which (my one anyway) must have been louder than the rated 32db.
My HS10 shipped today and I will be able to make a better comparison when I see it setup in the same room as my mt3 was
i appreciate that, if my MT1 didnt have those slight vertical Bands(sometimes) i would not consider changing it, however i am getting a bit more picky now after 2 years.
Let me know more once you get your HS10, i would be interested to know.
I think i will wait for the AE300 Panasonic to be released then make a decision between it and the HS10.
The next PJ i get must have no VBs!!
hope you enjoy your new toy!!
