    Hello,

My Toshiba TV screen last night was completely red when I turned it on. I thought my children had been messing but got nothing when trying to change the settings. After an hour or so it went back to the normal colours but then flickered every so often but still kept the original colours without going back to all Red.

Turned it on this morning and it was Red again for 5 mins but then changed back to normal colours (with a bit of flickering).

This is probably a common problem but Im wondering whether a) it can be fixed and b) is it expensive, if so should I buy a new TV rather than get this one repaired ??

I do like this TV and would rather keep it than buy a new one !!

Any help is greatly appreciated...plus my children dont like watching Balamory in Red !!!!

    Thanks, Ross in Staffordshire.

Bad news I would think Ross. :thumbsdow
It's almost certainly the crt (tube) with an intermittent short circuit in the Red gun.
Most of these models were fitted with a Philips widescreen crt and they had a very high failure rate.
Too expensive to repair I'm afraid, it would not be cost effective.
