I know we're all sick of the "can Stratas do PAL progressive" questions and most of us know the answer, but............

What never seems to be mentioned is the fact that the Strata sets do of course have an internal line doubler. Now I know that the progressive conversion is usually best done digitally by the DVD player, but in the absence of that option what about the Strata's doubler? I realise that it probably doesn't recognise the 3:2 sequence, but I thought that that wasn't needed for PAL. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't PAL need 2:2 pulldown, which the Strata probably does since it's for the PAL market?
Any thoughts from the progressive sages?
