Toshiba SDP74S hack needed

Hi !

I have just got back from New York, where I bought an portable Toshiba DVD player, which the salesperson at J&R promised was Region Free, but it isn´t.

Please have somebody any hack for this player, since its a long way from Sweden back to New York

Hi Chris,
I am in Norway and expect to have the same problem with the SDP94SKN that I bought in New York. I have read that sometimes the codes for one model of a brand work for similar models. Here is how to hack for another Toshiba portable model Toshiba SDP93S that you can try. I found it on one of the forums and have seen it on several others and people have had good success with it.
1. TURN ON THE POWER AND REMOVE ANY DISCS, CLOSE DRAWER
2. WAIT FOR “ NO DISC “ TO APPEAR ON YOUR DVD PLAYER SCREEN
3. USING YOUR REMOTE CONTROL PRESS: REPEAT 5-6-7-3-2-9 CONSECUTIVELY
4. THEN PRESS THE OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON ON YOUR DVD PLAYER
5. NOW TRY A DVD DISC FROM A DIFFERENT REGION


IF THIS IS NOT PROVING SUCESSFUL RESET THE DVD PLAYER BY PRESSING STOP AND PLAY BUTTONS ON THE REMOTE CONTROL FOR 5 SECONDS SIMULTANEOUSLY, DON’T FORGET TO REMOVE ANY DVD DISCS IN THE DRAWER. THEN TRY STEPS 2 – 4 AGAIN.

Have not yet tried it myself.Let me now if it works or if you found and any other codes that I could tried. Lykke til!

I bought Toshiba SDP94S in US as the seller said it is mult region. Looks like it is only work with region 1. Did any of you had success of unlocking it?

I have not had a chance to try the hack I posted below. If you try it and it works, please let us know...... or if you find another hack that works.

THIS HACK WORKED ON MY TOSHIBA SDP94SKN PORTABLE BOUGHT IN USA
My Toshiba now plays my region 2 dvds and I believe that it is now multiregional due to the last number of the hack, which is "9"

I just purchased the Toshiba SDP74S from Amazon and the above hack doesn't work. Sad, sad. I've tried it ten times now. Does anyone else have any other ideas?
