Just bought this DVD player from Currys today and this code worked fine for me. Have you tried puting the tv system option to auto in the video settings? The player is really good quality and value for £50, and plays everything you would expect it to play. It doesn't play all my divx files though.

I too bought mine from Amazon a week ago, the hack worked absolutely fine after switching it on, now region free. Woo-hoo
