It looks like I am going to buy the above Tosh.

Can I use it to view my JPEGs that I have saved on CD-R?

Can I use it to view my .AVI videos that I have made on my Sony IP7 handycam and saved to CD-R?

Any help woud be much appreciated.

I have the 510 and want to make a photo cd up to play on it, if you tell me how to make one I will test it and let you know.
A friend put some photo's onto a CD-RW disc for me, the player came up disc error, so it maybe how he put them on the disc, any idea's?

In the specs it will play
    DVD
    DVD Audio
    video cd's
    Audio CD
DVD-R discs of dvd video format (only certain makes)
    CD-R/CD-RW discs as CD-DA format.

I have windows XP and just copy the files to CD as you would a floppy.

I dont know whether this works or not yet as I dont have the player!!!

When I asked the retailer if it would play them he said "yes, no problem".

    However seeing is believing!

Yes, thats how my mate did it, but I have just been on the phone to him and has since read that you may have to write them as a video cd, which should be alright as video cd is in the specs, hopefully I will have another disc to test tomorrow. I will report back here if you like.

:D bid grin meens it worked :D my mate used a Memorex 700mb CD-R 24X to burn my photos using the video cd option in Nero, they played back great from my 510.
The picture quality was pretty good on my TV.

I burned a Video CD but it would only accept type 1 MPEG files. My "Southpark Tribute to Monty Python" burned just fine and played on my 510E but no JPEGs could be burned to the disk in this format. How do I view photos on the Tosh?

In the end I brought a SD220E multiregion for 3149. Couldn't see the point in paying the extra. Have burnt my JPEGs onto CDR using nero as a VCD and can view them fine. Can also veiw AVI and MPEGs with no discernable difference in quality.
