    Hi All,

I'm new to the forum, so sorry for diving straight in with a question.

I'm currently in the market for a new multi-region DVD player, to match my new Tosh 36ZP48 plus replace my current R1 and R2 players.

I've cut the choice down to the two above based on matching the look of the TV (keeps everyone happy!), and more importantly good reviews but I've got a couple of questions you guys might be able to help me out with:-

    • Is DiVX playback the only difference between the two?
    • I know they're both PAL Progressive Scan, but do they also output NTSC Progressive Scan

    Thanks in advance.

My vote would go to the 340 as it's better spec'd - is marginally bigger, has optical output, plus it plays DIVX. The 240, looks more like a toy - plasticky, with poor build quality.

why not spend a tad more, and get a player with so much more (pioneer 575).

    Thanks Snick.

Funny you should suggest the Pioneer 575 because I was giving some thought to getting a better spec'ed machine and this with the Denon 1910 were the two I was thinking about.

Anyone got any thougths on these two?

    Cheers.
