I've recently noticed a problem with the sound output from the above player.
It first became evident during the "Smells like Teen Spirit" section of Moulin Rouge, where the loudest parts sounded somewhat muffled - rather like the old Automatic Recording Level cassette decks used to sound when they went from quiet passages to loud, if anyone else can remeber that far back!.
Then last night during another disc, the dialogue was very muffled, again like a 5th generation cassette copy - but this was at all volume levels.
The problem was there during playback via SCART to the TV, and also through the audio outputs to my HiFi.
I'm assuming a lens cleaning disc won't help, as the picture quality showed no degredation.
Has anyone got any thoughts on this?
