I have recently bought a Toshiba SD-240E DVD player.

At the moment it is connected to my old Hitachi 21 inch TV via scart. However, when set to RGB the colours are not even on the whole picture. This can especially be seen when watching a letterboxed film, the top black bar is grey and the lower bar is grey at the bottom becoming blacker at the top.

Ultimately the RGB playback is not that important as I will be connecting through component once my Tosh 36ZP48 arrives, but through RGB it looks worse than my old sony player (where the black bars were black).

Also can anyone one recommend some component cables, bearing in mind the dvd player is only £70 so I don't want them to cost more than it.

    Cheers
