Hope someone may be able to throw some light on this little problem.

I have a Toshiba 40PW03 reap projection set which i've had for a few months, overall i'm pretty happy with it but of late i seem to be having problems with convergence. The picture in the cente of the screen is fine but i have discolouration on the extremes of the picture ie, a blue line bottom left, red line top right. Also the text shows up convergence problems. When i go into the convergence settings i can not get all elements correct so i have to compromise between a perfect alignment on the left hand side and a terrible one on the right or vice versa.

Is this normal for these kind of tv's or should i get it seen to? The model i had was a ex-display set and i'm wondering if over use has had an effect?

    TIA

    Not much help but,
If you've only had it a few month i'd call the place you brought it from and get them to send out an engineer as it will still be under waranty.

I will probably call out an engineer at some point but i was mainly interested if this is a problem that is usual with rear projection tv sets, am i expecting too much to have a pin perfect picture across all of the screen?

    Thanks for the reply though

Never attempt to adjust convergence until after the set has been on for some 40 minutes and has had time to settle. Then any adjustment should stay set. Could be you do have a problem so do call out an engineer. ALL CRT tv's have this problem but the smaller the screen is the less likely you are to notice. Some manufacturers allow 6mm error on a 28" screen!
