    Hi, my first post...

I've been lurking for some time and am considering, among others, a Tosh RP TV. Many people seem to have had problems with their Tosh RP and this is putting me off... even although I like the features/price. However, for every one story of woe, hopefully there are a hundred happy users. I would appreciate your time in the following consumer survey....

    Thanks

    My mini-saga is as follows:

Tosh 40" number 1 delivered: fails to fire up straight away (red gun firing up out of sync)

Tosh #2 delivered: after 2 weeks completely dies (circuit noard failure)

    Tosh #3 deliverd: fine (thankfully)

    Excellent performance (when they work)

I've had a 40WH08B since November 2000 and have had no problems with it at all. Picture quality is superb, the sound is alos pretty good (I've added front speakers and a sub woofer).

Perhap's I've just got lucky but I would recommend it to anyone.

Poll results are interesting (over 50% of the 12 people replying so far have had problems!).

However, I compared the 50WH18 and the TX42PT10 (intending to but 47PT10 as they are the same chassis & gun system). Tosh won by miles in terms of quality....

Will sleep on it  - thanks for those who have replied.

Oh yes. If the glass is three quarters full, it is a quarter empty to me ;)

There seem to be more happy Tosh owners out there now: the no problems & would buy again is in the lead. Perhaps the reason it has taken so long for that category to be ahead is because everyone is stuck in front of the TV :D

So now I've just got to find someone with stock. Tosh say "at least 4 weeks" and the usual suspects have them on back order.

Comet have one at £2300 (on line or £2495 in the shop), but I'm not paying that for it...

    Good luck!

Be sure to supervise every step of their delivery from arrival at your house. Delivery men tend not to treat RPTVs very weel in my experience and need a 'careful eye' to bring out better behaviour.

Let us know when it arrives....

Err... put off by the service stories on this site. I don't want to deal with a company that makes me sign a piece of paper to get work done on my set, particularly with around 40% of people seeing problems ;)

    But thanks for the suggestion...
