Im looking to buy a DVD recorder that has a hard drive built in. My main purpose is to record shows in a quality that is indistinguishable form Sky Digital broadcasts and then archive them on to DVD with the advertisement breaks removed. The shows that I record are about 20 minutes long per an episode. After a lengthy research process, the machine I have chosen is the TOSHIBA RDXS34, mainly due to its editing options and the quality of its picture. I notice that a multi-region version of this machine is available. I am correct in thinking that these multi-region versions have not been approved by Toshiba and so wont have a valid warranty? If so, is possible to enter a code to make the system multi-region. Or, failing that, can I convert a foreign disc on a PC into a UK format and then burn it on disc to play it in the TOSHIBA RDXS34. Finally, are any models better than TOSHIBA RDXS34 likely to be released in the immediate future? Thanks for any help.
