Just taken delivery of a Tosh RDXS32. Whilst it seems a great machine, the tuner seems very soft. I get a far better result rom the tuner in my old JVC VCR. Compared to that, the Tosh has poor colour fidelity (glaring reds), a soft overall look and is generally below par. Are they all like this?

    No!

Glaring reds? could that be a poor quality scart cable issue?

I think I've sussed the oversaturation. <hangs head in shame> I have a 3 year old and he'd been busy with the remote. Re did all the setup again last night and it looks a lot better colour wise but still soft as noted.

Semi related, I have a freeview box. I can obviously stick in videoplus codes and make the machine record from it's built in tuner. If I want to record from the freeview box (hopefully not as soft), do I have to do that manually or is there a way to make videoplus codes trigger use of the freeview box instead of the built in tuner?
