I can't be definitive but my Tosh won't play back Verbatim +R and +RW disks created with my PC SONY DVD writer. Both play quite happily in my standalone SONY DVD player

It's not in the list of compatible discs for playback, so no I don't think it can. I have a few and haven't managed it yet either.

    Acording to here

    http://www.videohelp.com/dvdrecorders

    no

however it might be possible to make them compatable with bit-setting, which I may give a go, if I can work out how to do it....

I bought mine after reading in one post in this forum that it CAN read DVD+R
I've tried several DVD+R recorded in DVD-Video mode with no succes.

Nevertheless, it is a very good machine with a great picture quality in progresive by components.

    Good luck,

The Toshiba RDXS32 can read some DVD+Rs. It is very fussy about them though - largely due to the fact that playback of 'plus' media has been disabled on that unit so playback is accidental. So far I haven't been able to get any DVD+RWs to work with it although I have only tried a dozen or so brands.

I've tried a couple and no luck so far with either DVD+R or +RW. Not surprising since they're not on the spec list.

I have used +R's with success in my Tosh.

These have been created on my PC in two different ways, one a straight "disk copy" of a finalised DVD-R that I made on the Tosh, the others have all been "back ups" of commercial DVD's to stop kids breaking them.

They were from blankdiscshop and were cheap Bulkpaq's.

You can play DVD+R´s if they are burnt with Booklet type. My NEC 1300 can´t burn with that option so all my DVD+R´s are useless unfortunatly.
    Others can!

Check your settings for your dvd burner.
