Toshiba Qosmio X505 Q888 over heating

Hi all,

As title my Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q888 is over heating.
A message appears on the screen saying something like "Turn off your Laptop & service as overheating"

This only seems to happen when the Battery is near dead & I start to charge the Battery while the Laptop is on.
If I turn the Laptop off & fully charge then turn on it runs ok?

I need (like most people) my Laptop everyday & i'm broke at minute so was wondering if there is a way to repair the Laptop myself?
the Laptop is out of warranty

Any help would be appreciated,
Regards, Jonny

It sounds like the battery charger is pretty inefficient or badly placed and the heat from that raising the temperature inside the case higher.

Assuming the laptop is fine and the overheating isn't a symptom of something worse than you can probably temporarily solve this by cleaning the dust out of the case.

If that doesn't work set a balanced power profile. Not great as it will impact on performance, but may keep you running.
