Following an email from reader Harvery Fletcher-Holmes saying that he'd been told Toshiba's mooted 62in DLP rear projection TV was no longer going to be launched, we've contacted Toshiba to find out what's going on - and have been told that, disappointingly in our opinion, Toshiba is now not intending to launch any new DLP TVs in 2005. Apparently it wants to focus on its LCD TV production instead. Anyway, here's their full, official response...</p><P>"The LCD market is now becoming the dominate TV sector and is in rapid growth (+202% YoY for the 52 weeks ending Aug 05). Toshiba's focus is on producing high quality, future proof HD ready LCD products in this market and so we have decided not to launch any new DLP TVs in 2005. This will allow Toshiba to continue to build upon the LCD success we have been experiencing throughout 2005 into 2006 and the future."
