I have a Toshiba 42WP27 and have noticed that some foreground colours on certain background colours (say white on blue) cause feint horizontal streaks across the screen.

My DVD player and Sky+ box are connected to the Plasma by a JS RGB-VGA conveter, but this isn't causing the problem as I can see the phenominon via Composite Video too.

I have a couple of photos which show the problem, but they arn't as clear as I hoped.

Can anyone else with Toshiba or Panasonic confirm whether they see the same thing, or should I log it as a fault?

Phew.. Thanks for that.. It doesn't really bother me that much, I just wanted to be sure that it wasn't a fault.

I VERY rarely see it in normal operation, but sometimes something moves up/down the screen on the you see a feint 'shadow/streak' move with it.

But as you say, its just one of those things.

Same thing happening to me on my 37" panny. Its strange though. I'm sure it wasn't always like that, but I've only noticed it recently. Plasma is 9 weeks old.

There's a setting on my Fuji called "clamp". I forget what it does exactly, but, when I first noticed a banding on some Sky channels, setting this to -2 totally cured it. I think it's a frequency lock type setting. Auto should have been OK, but, -2 is best.

Maybe your Panny's have a similar setting. It certainly wasn't obvious to me.

Looks like identical problem with right shift ghosting on Sony direct view CRT's. Weird! Shouldn't effect Plasma.

Having looked at the other post with a similar problem, I think is is not quite the same as the clamp thing on the Fuji.

Have you tried plugging in the same pictures direct to the screen rather than the tuner box ? Is that possible ?

Until yesterday's cable change, I did have a slight ghost image on component feed, but, this was simply cable interference. Better shielded cables cured the problem. I mention this as it was a ghosting to the right of the main image....far more visible in the dark/light boundaries. How are your cables situated ?

    Just ideas...
