Just got my XE1 back today, 10-14 days since sending it away, Toshiba use a 3rd party repair company. I sent it back because the player was so noisy we could hear it above the sound of some films.

Guess what,it sounds just as loud now as before which suggests they have not touched it!

Anyone else have a similar problem?

    Hi mate :)
Ring Toshiba and get a replacement instead, say it's not been fixed and it's way too noisy. :(
No need for the excessive noise, mines quiet. :)

I sent my EP35 back for repair as it has the problem with the layer change. I got it back with a sticker on it saying that it had been fully tested and found to be working. Every disc after that showed the same problem. I don't think they did anything at all with it. I sent it back today with a detailed error report. With the number of returns they must have had with the problem, I couldn't believe they'd returned it as not faulty. Will see what happens this time.

My XE1 had it's main board replaced due to the ethernet not working, no idea if it was the physical connector or associated components, either way turn around was about two weeks and well pleased with the outcome (not the fault but the customer service).

They have done nothing to mine, Toshiba confirmed it, they won't replace it and are collecting it again next week to go back for repair again!
